How to enlarge (semi) circular skirt
In my alteration studio, I am asked very often to enlarge garments : to make it fit again.
Most of the time it is a real challenge, I have to insert pieces on the sides, cut, add….. but for the circular skirts, it is a piece of cake.
First, take a skirt too small
|The trick is to find that new line. It doesn’t have to be very far. the distance between the two lines is equal to the difference between the two waist measurements ( the new measurement minus the original one) divided by 6.3.
If you skirt is 65 cm wide at the waist and you want it to be 85 cm, your take the difference : 85-65 =20 cm. you divide by 6.3 and you obtain 3.17cm. you then draw a line 3.17 cm from the original waistline.
